Vertiv, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), Ohio Department of Development, and the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), today announced an investment of over $49 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Ironton, Ohio, creating up to 520 new jobs in the state through 2029. The expansion is expected to be operational in Q2 of 2027.
“Vertiv’s growth here is a testament to Ohio’s integral role in the technology industry,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “Ohio has the best workforce in the nation, and we are proud that Ohioans will be on the leading edge of Vertiv’s work to establish and strengthen the AI supply chain.”
Vertiv is a global leader in critical digital infrastructure for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments. Based in Westerville, Ohio, Vertiv delivers power, cooling, infrastructure solutions, and services for AI and high-performance computing, for sectors including hyperscale, colocation, government, finance, manufacturing, and healthcare.
“Ohio is a major hub for AI and data infrastructure investment, and Vertiv’s production is critical to ensuring efficient and reliable operations,” said J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio. “The company’s latest investment will create hundreds of new jobs, demonstrating Vertiv’s continued confidence in Ohio as it scales production to meet growing market demand.”
Vertiv’s roots in Ohio span more than 60 years, and in Ironton the company has steadily expanded manufacturing operations over the past 25 years. With this investment, Vertiv will expand its manufacturing operations in Lawrence County to help meet growing industry demand for critical thermal chain technologies that support AI factories and traditional compute environments. The project includes added production space and upgraded machinery.
“For 25 years, Ironton has been an important part of Vertiv’s growth, backed by the strength of the local workforce and the support of the Southeast Ohio community,” said Anand Sanghi, president of Vertiv Americas. “Expansion of these operations is an investment in Ohio, the community and our employees, and a continuation of our global manufacturing capacity growth strategy.”
The investment is being supported by a $3,000,000 JobsOhio Grant and a Job Creation Tax Credit from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority. Additionally, the project received support through the JobsOhio Talent Acquisition program, which helps identify a company’s talent challenges and builds sustainable talent recruitment strategies that support every stage of a candidate’s journey. Skilled jobs for the new facility will include mechanical, electrical, assembly, and quality roles, in addition to production maintenance and supervisory positions.
“We and our partners at JobsOhio and LEDC appreciate Vertiv’s confidence in Southeast Ohio and the talented workforce in Lawrence County,” said Matt Abbott, President and CEO of OhioSE. “Their growth underscores the advantages of doing business in Southern Ohio.”
Vertiv’s expansion is expected to strengthen the regional supply chain, enhance workforce opportunities, and reinforce Southern Ohio’s growing role in technology, digital infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing.
“Vertiv has been a valued partner in Lawrence County for over 25 years, and we are proud to support their continued growth in our community,” said Jeremy Clay, Chief Operating Officer at Lawrence Economic Development Corporation. “During that time, we have worked alongside Vertiv through multiple expansions, strengthening their operations and presence in our region. This latest investment reflects their continued confidence in our workforce and the strength of our long-standing partnership. With this expansion, Vertiv will become one of the largest manufacturers in our region, marking a significant milestone for Lawrence County’s economic future.”
