K3 Copper LLC Announces Expansion in Gallia County
Posted on April 14, 2026
K3 Copper, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), Gallia County Economic Development, and the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College, today announced an investment of over $1.9 million to build a new production facility in Gallia County, creating 10 new jobs.
K3 Copper is a specialized copper welding and repair shop serving the steel industry. Among only a few U.S. firms with expertise in the field, the company provides critical services for arc furnace components, with Nucor as its largest customer. In addition to reliable repair services, K3 Copper offers component redesigns and upgrades to improve the performance and longevity of Melt Shop equipment.
“K3 Copper is excited to construct a new manufacturing facility in Gallia County,” said Kevin Blake, the Owner of K3 Copper. “Our company is continuing to grow and this new facility will be critical to supporting our nationwide customer base in the steel industry.”
With this investment, K3 Copper plans to construct a new 10,000 square foot production facility to house all of the company’s production and office space.
“Attracting new manufacturing investment is a key part of Gallia County’s economic development strategy and this project demonstrates the progress being made,” said Taylor Stepp, Director of Economic Development for Gallia County. “K3 Copper’s project will be the first new manufacturing facility built in Gallia County in some time and we believe more will follow.”
This investment is supported by a $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant. The JobsOhio Small Business Grant offers financial assistance to eligible small businesses in Ohio looking to grow their operations. To qualify, the company must have an eligible project and meet business size and industry requirements.
Gallia County supported the project with a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) tax abatement, which was a critical factor in winning the project.
“We are thrilled to welcome K3 Copper into Gallia County,” said the Gallia County Commissioners in a joint statement. “This project will bring well-paying manufacturing jobs into the community that will pay dividends to Gallia County for many years.”
Matt Abbott, President and CEO of OhioSE, applauds K3 Copper for their continued commitment to excellence and innovation. He stated “This project not only supports the company’s growth and position in the market but also strengthens the steel supply chain in Ohio.”
Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE) is the JobsOhio Network Partner for southern, eastern, and southeastern Ohio, providing economic development work and resources in 25 rural counties.
