JOMAC Ltd. Announces Expansion in Carroll County
Posted on June 29, 2022
JOMAC Ltd, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and Carroll County Economic Development, today announced an investment of over $290,000 to expand their services and create six new jobs in Carroll County, Ohio.
Established in 1998, JOMAC Ltd. Is an Ohio-based company that designs, manufactures, and constructs aluminum truck bodies and cranes that are placed on the trucks. The vehicles are used in a number of industries including agriculture, construction, fire and rescue, and energy services.
“We are constantly looking for ways to be more competitive and meet the needs of our customers,” said Rich Jones, President, JOMAC LTD. “The new machinery, being acquired with assistance from JobsOhio, will allow us to increase production, cut waste, and lower energy costs.”
The investment includes the purchase of a new plasma cutter that will replace two older machines, as well as building renovations and utility upgrades, increasing productivity while reducing scrap, energy, and training costs.
“JOMAC has been a vital business in our community for a long time,” said Christopher Modranski, Director of Carroll County Economic Development and County Commissioner. “Being able to provide them assistance with the purchase of this equipment not only makes them more efficient but also allows them to hire additional employees ultimately creating greater value for Carroll County and the great state of Ohio.”
JobsOhio supported the project with a $25,000 JobsOhio Inclusion Grant and OhioSE assisted the company with the grant process. The JobsOhio Inclusion Grant exists to provide financial support for eligible projects in designated distressed communities and/or for businesses owned by underrepresented populations across the state.
“Rich Jones has built an impressive business. What began in a small garage is now a robust company that manufactures customized service trucks for clients worldwide,” said OhioSE President Mike Jacoby. “Small businesses like JOMAC Ltd. are so important to Ohio’s economy. We are pleased to be able to support their growth in Carroll County with a JobsOhio Inclusion Grant.”
