Fuse Tech, Inc. Announces Investment in Harrison County
Posted on October 15, 2025
Fuse Tech, Inc., in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and the Harrison County CIC, today announced an investment in its Harrison County facility, creating three new jobs.
Fuse Tech, Inc. is a globally active advanced manufacturing and industrial services company headquartered in Cadiz, Ohio. The company produces a highly specialized sand-based ceramic welding blend that is critical to the repair of high-temperature furnaces used in glass, steel, cement, and coke production. Alongside its production capabilities, Fuse Tech deploys highly skilled welding teams to perform precision furnace repairs while the units remain operational.
Founded in 1993 by Carl Firestone, expanded internationally by Donald Shamp in 2001, the company was purchased in 2022 by the current owners, Scott and Jodi Henry. Scott has worked with Fuse Tech since 2001, starting out as a laborer, advancing to ceramic welder, crew leader, supervisor, manager, vice president and now owner.
"Being born and raised in Harrison County, I have taken pride in leading the transition of Fuse Tech’s headquarters from Sylvania, OH to Cadiz, OH," said Scott Henry, President of Fuse Tech, Inc. "This move has allowed us to create local administrative and full-time warehouse positions that did not exist under prior leadership. We have also been able to shift our accounting, insurance, employee benefits, and legal needs to local businesses in the surrounding area. We are grateful to JobsOhio and the Harrison County CIC for their support in our long-term success."
Fuse Tech’s Cadiz facility serves as the company’s primary production hub for North American operations, overseeing material manufacturing, tool fabrication, logistics, and the deployment of specialized crews to job sites worldwide.
The company is investing in building improvements to protect its production line and support company operations and future growth.
“There is no better way to grow our region than investing in our future,” said Nick Homrighausen, Executive Director of Community & Economic Development. “Small businesses grow into large businesses that employ local residents and provide a better quality of life. The Harrison County CIC is extremely grateful for the focus and investment in Fuse Tech a Harrison County Global Business. This grant will help Fuse Tech to continue to grow and make further investments into Harrison County all while putting a spotlight on Harrison County and the OhioSE region that businesses here can thrive and change the world.”
This investment is supported by a $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant. The JobsOhio Small Business Grant offers financial assistance to eligible small businesses in Ohio looking to grow their operations. To qualify, the company must have an eligible project and meet business size and industry requirements.
“We love to see our local companies grow their capacity and impact,” said Matt Abbott, OhioSE President and CEO. “We are grateful to JobsOhio for their investment in Fuse Tech, setting them up for long-term success and future growth in Harrison County.”
Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE) is the JobsOhio Network Partner for southern, eastern, and southeastern Ohio, providing economic development work and resources in 25 rural counties. Geographically the largest of the seven regions across the state, OhioSE partners closely with regional development districts, local economic development offices, state agencies, and other entities to expand, retain, and attract businesses in the counties they serve.
