Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing LLC Announces $10 Million Investment in Guernsey County
Posted on May 20, 2026
JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and the Guernsey County Port Authority recently joined Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing LLC to celebrate the grand reopening of its Byesville facility after the completion of a $10 million company-funded renovation and expansion supported by state and local economic development incentives.
A subsidiary of Daimler Truck North America, Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing specializes in rebuilding engines and transmissions used in medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. By taking worn components and restoring them to like‑new condition, the company helps trucking fleets reuse existing equipment while reducing material waste.
“Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing’s investment expanded its existing facility as it continues to grow in Guernsey County,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “The company is also investing in talent through an apprenticeship program that will upskill hard-working Ohioans, providing manufacturing and automotive sector skills.”
The investment includes demolition of an existing building, the construction of a new office facility, and the conversion of office space in the plant to manufacturing space. The company recently launched an apprenticeship program for skilled positions. “Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing is one of our county’s largest private-sector employers, and we are thrilled the company’s leadership has chosen to invest in Ohio, and specifically Guernsey County,” said Bill Arnett, Executive Director, Guernsey County Port Authority. “We are excited to support the company’s growth with a bond issuance and look forward to its continued growth in the future,” Arnett said.
The expansion is supported by a $100,000 JobsOhio Grant as well as assistance through the JobsOhio Talent Acquisition Services (TAS) program to launch the apprenticeship program.
“Detroit Deisel Remanufacturing, LLC is a valued employer in the OhioSE region,” said OhioSE President and CEO, Matt Abbott. “We are excited to support this growth opportunity and appreciate the company’s continued investment in Southeast Ohio.”
